Your Guide to HydraFacials
HydraFacials are one of our more popular aesthetic treatments at Fargo Center for Dermatology and can be easily customized for each of our patient’s individual needs. If you’re interested in intensive skin rejuvenation, here is everything you need to know about the HydraFacial treatment and how you can benefit.
What is a HydraFacial?
A HydraFacial is a purifying treatment that uses patented technology to cleanse, nourish and protect the skin. Great for all skin types, this gentle but effective facial extracts impurities to clear skin congestion and hydrates the skin to lock in moisture and antioxidants. This is done in three steps: cleansing and exfoliation, a gentle acid peel, and finally, a serum infusion with collagen and antioxidants. Customize this treatment by choosing from a variety of booster serums to address any skin concern.
Who is a Candidate for HydraFacial?
The HydraFacial treatment is safe for all skin types can be customized to address a variety of skin concerns. The HydraFacial improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, enlarged pores, and more! Unlike lasers and other cosmetic treatments, patients with dark skin tones and sensitive skin types can safely and effectively rejuvenate their skin with a HydraFacial.
How is a Microdermabrasion Different Than a HydraFacial?
While we offer both options, there are slight differences between a microdermabrasion and a HydraFacial. A microdermabrasion will gently exfoliate the outer most dead layer of the skin using a crushed diamond tip with a light suction. A HydraFacial uses water-based exfoliation, and the HydraFacial wand simultaneously infuses the skin with hydrating skincare products. HydraFacial and microdermabrasion both focus on the superficial layer of the skin, but Hydrafacial allows for more customization with various serums added to the infusion step of the procedure.
How Often Can I Receive HydraFacial Treatment?
HydraFacial may be recommended at different time frames depending on the goal of the treatment series. For acneic or breakout-prone skin, a HydraFacial may be recommended every 1-2 weeks until improvement, followed by monthly for maintenance. HydraFacial treatments can be done routinely every 4 weeks to promote healthy skin cell turnover and give the skin a brighter, smoother appearance.
Because of the gentle exfoliation and hydration HydraFacial provides, this treatment can be used to supplement aesthetic services to prep the skin 7-10 days before or to rebalance the skin 2 weeks after microneedling and laser treatments.
